How to score high in Alexa Ranking – Tips and Tricks
Posted on 31 December 2009 by sharath
Alexa.com or the web information company is a website which provides information on traffic stats of websites. One of the factors in the Alexa ranking algorithm is according to the amount of users who’ve visited a website with the Alexa toolbar installed.

In this post i’m going to discuss on how to get good Alexa ranking for your website \ blog!
What is the Alexa Rank?
If simply put simply, the Alexa Rank is a ranking system which bases its ranking on the amount of traffic each website receives from the number of people who visit a website from around the world.
Why is it important?
People consider Alexa ranking for CPC and CPM for advertising on the site. Advertisers would like to display their ads on your site if your traffic ranking on Alexa is high. So I’ve figured out some strategies that you can use to increase your Alexa Rank in the short and long run.
It is important to emphasize that you should devote most of your efforts in growing your site audience alongside integrated implementation of any of the following tips below.
» First thing to do when you’re concentrating on getting a good Alexa ranking is to ‘Install the Alexa toolbar‘ and set your blog as your homepage.
» Show off an Alexa rank widget on your website. Previously I didn’t have any faith in showing off a widget on the site and the day I added the widget my page rank decreased is now less than 100k
.
» Set your site homepage on other computers and install alexa toolbar. Install the Alexa toolbar on all computers and set your website as the homepage for all browsers. Perhaps it will be useful to note that this may work only when dynamic or different IPs are used.
» Share your knowledge about Alexa. Tell people about it (that’s what i’m doing right now with this post) and encourage others to use the Alexa toolbar.
» Getting reviewed is a good thing. Almost everything in this world would be reviewed. Lets say your exams review how your doing and if your working then your boss would review your performance. In the same way ask friends to review and rate your Alexa website profile and it might help in some way. If you want to review Technology is mY passion, please visit this page..
» Use Alexa redirects on your website URL. Try this: http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?www.techmypassion.com . Leave this redirected URL in blog comments as well as forum signatures.
» Write and share information about Alexa (something like this blog post). Webmaster and bloggers love to hear about ways to increase their Alexa rank. If they like what you wrote I’m sure that they’ll link to you and send you targeted traffic.
» Sharing is caring? ever heard of that? yeah, same applies for webmasters too. Share your URL in webmaster forums and ask people to review your website. Since we’re talking about Webmasters, they usually have the toolbar installed. so you’ll be getting webmasters to visit your website and offer useful feedback.
